Meet Texas Commercial Litigation Lawyer Sarita A. Smithee

Sarita A. Smithee, an associate Dallas commercial litigation lawyer at The Beckham Group, earned her Juris Doctorate in May 2007 from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. At SMU, Smithee was a member of the Southern Methodist University Law Review and published an article in SMU’s Journal of Air Law & Commerce. While a law student, Smithee participated in SMU’s Civil Clinic, interned for Thirteenth Court of Appeals of Texas Justices Linda Reyna Yanez and Dori Contreras Garza, and clerked at the Department of Homeland Security.
Smithee earned her undergraduate degree in 1997 from Texas Tech University, double majoring in Corporate Telecommunications and Honors Studies. Prior to entering law school, Smithee worked with various Dallas-area consulting firms where she gained extensive experience in research and analysis of personal and corporate net worth.
Smithee was elected to the 2011 DWLA Board of Directors and is a member of several professional organizations including the Dallas Bar Association, the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, the Dallas Women Lawyers Association, and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers. Smithee is also active in North Texas Mensa and volunteers with the American Red Cross.
